| Well it's been about 2 years since I've been on Xanga. I don't plan on updating much, but I thought it would be fun to summarize what's been going on the past 2 years.
No longer a manager over at Guitar Center. It was fun but I could only take so many kids playing "Nirvana" and "Smoke on the Water"
Have been on staff fulltime at the Creek now for over a year and it's amazing.
I can actually marry people....that's scary... don't intend on doing that for a while...unless Matt and Kath are willing to be my test subjects...come on...lets do this thing...
Been married to my amazing wife Jess for almost 2 years...A kid told us right after we got married that "we wouldn't last more than 5 months"....Take that kid!
The Creek is starting a second location in Anthony Wayne in about 7 weeks!
Halo 2 owns my life....
That's just half of it but I have a short attention span so this is ending
Oh here's a few pictures enjoy!

Jess and I do a lot of fishing so we had a contest for the most fish one day. I quit because she caught this monster bass...

This is from the Junior high camp from this summer that I got to be apart of and I just thought this one was funny...Can anyone tell me who the heck that is in the far right corner...creepy...

Jess and our dog Gizmo in our studio. This is my favorite place in our home and where I do the Cedar Creek Radio Commericals. We are working on the post production part of the Cedar Creek Live at Seagate cd right now and hope to have that done very soon .I'd show you the whole thing but it's really messy right now.
That's about it....see you in another 2 years!
| Im back! good to be back...woo hoo!! I got 21 comments! my next goal is 690 comments but I think thats alittle high.
So the cruise was sweet! except for jamaica. Never go to Jamaica!! Everyone there is so pushy they literally force you to go into their store that is no different from the 30 surrounding stores cause they all have the same things: rum, cigars, hats with dredlocks attached and bob marley t-shirts. I also got pushed to buy weed 5 times in a half and hour...don't worry...I only accepted the offer 3 times. The best part of jamaica was getting to go to the actually Margaritaville. The bar had a huge slide from the 2nd level into the ocean and trampelines on the water.
We also got our dog gizmo (picture of her is on jess' site...im sure she'll put more up too). She's awesome but she's already the boss of my life. If your not paying attention to her for no longer than 5 seconds she throws a fit.
So thats about all I got. Good to be back and i'll see everyone soon.
and yes Luke....I totally scored
| This came from "My Utmost for His Highest" by Oswald Chambers...
"We like to listen to personal testimonies, but we don’t want God Himself to speak to us. Why are we so terrified for God to speak to us? It is because we know that when God speaks we must either do what He asks or tell Him we will not obey."
Well crap on me why don't ya Oswald! Yea this has been me the past month (or 12 years...same thing). Of course telling him I won't obey has come hand in hand with ignoring Him. I've been so wrapped up in my own life that I wanted God to take a seat on the bench for a while. I wanted to free up that extra space he was taking in my head and use it to worry about future plans and decisions only to realize that was emptying me. It's been great to do a whole reverse of that though
Speacial thanks to everyone who emptied Target for jess' bridal shower! You guys are awesome! We had an SUV and a van completly full of stuff!
Alright im gone...if I don't see 20 comments heads are gonna roll!
| Know what this is called? Yea that's right my friend it's AN UPDATE!!!!!!
Been a while since I've posted. This has been one of the craziest up and down months I've had in my 20 year career of being a human being. Sit down as I take you on a trip back to a little time in history I like to call....ummm....last month....
1.) I graduated!!! Yea im so glad im out of college now. I like to do things that are tangible and sitting in a language class trying to say that "My Cheerios have overtaken the entire town!" in French is not my idea of doing something with life. It's nice to have what my good friend Matt Wahlgren calls a "Glorified G.E.D" cause im sure it will come in handy some time....like...in my next point...
2.) I got a job at Guitar Center!!! Wooooooo!!! Yea it's a fulltime sales gig with mad benefits and really good pay. It was a shot in the dark because out of 150 applicants only 3 people got the job for guitar sales. Never doubt God dumb Jayson, never doubt God...With only 6 weeks before my wedding and no job I was getting more than a little nervous. It's funny too because God closed doors on jobs that would normally be really easy to get so I would keep looking and eventually see the ad for G.C. in the paper. Even UPS and Cd Warehouse didn't hire me...of course I think I know why they didn't hire me at CD Warehouse. In my interview the lady asked me "how would I handle an irrate customer?" I replied "I dunno...got any guns??" dumb Jayson very dumb...
3.) Pretty sure we settled on an apartment. Killer apartment in Perrysburg called Perrys Crossing. We dig it alot.
4.) If it's true that Emo stands for "emotional music" then that bugs the heck out of me. So all other music is what? Non-emotional music? Should we call all other music "NEMO???"
Hmmm....i'm pretty sure I just screwed up some kind of continuum I had going there...oh well thats about all I got...now go away before I call the cops on you!!
| BLAM!! UPDATE!!!
So Mark Bernard (future father in-law in 10 weeks) has gotten me back into one of my favorite childhood authors (aside from the creator of Ren and Stimpy) C.S. Lewis. He wrote the kids series the "Chronicles of Narnia," but also wrote about a hojillion amazing books. I just wanted to throw this quote from C.S. Lewis at you cause I thought it was awesome.
"For all our offerings, whether of music or martyrdom, are like the intrinsically worthless present of a child, which a father values indeed, but values only for the intention."
If Im looking at this from a musician standpoint, it doesn't matter which style of music you bring to God or whether you can sing or not, it matters where your heart is. He couldn't give a rip if the song is too fast or too slow, on-key or off, worn out or brand new, all that matters is your heart and intention from which you bring this gift. That's awesome...cause Im a sucky musician...
